Primary Practice Areas
DANIEL P. STEELE specializes in
personal injury, employment, and commercial litigation. He has
served as lead trial counsel on cases in the following areas: motor
vehicle accidents, air carrier liability, product liability,
construction accidents, premises liability, employment discrimination,
and wrongful termination.
He has tried cases to verdict in all of the state
circuit and federal district courts in the Detroit metropolitan area as
well as a number or other courts throughout the State of
Michigan. He has argued before the Michigan Court of Appeals and
the United States Court of Appeals.
Dan received his bachelor’s degree in
Business Administration from Michigan State University and his law
degree from Wayne State University. He first came to
Vandeveer Garzia as a law clerk in 1981 and in 1995 became the youngest
member ever to serve on the firm’s management committee. He
has served on the firm’s Board of Directors since 1994.
He is the author of the Pretrial Discovery Chapter
of the Michigan Basic Practice Handbook and has lectured for the
Michigan Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He recently
completed two terms on the Board of Directors of the Michigan Defense
Trial Counsel and has received the organization’s Distinguished
Service Award. He also serves as a mediator for the Wayne County
Mediation Tribunal Association.
Dan holds the highest rating recognized by Martindale Hubbell and has been selected as a Michigan Super Lawyer for the last three years.
