Aviation Law and Litigation
Since the early years of commercial aviation
Vandeveer Garzia has been actively involved in Aviation Litigation
representing many of the major air carriers in air crash
litigation. We were one of the first law firms in Michigan to
specialize in Aviation Litigation. Our attorneys were actively
involved in Multi-District Litigation including the crash in Chicago of
the United Airlines jet and the Detroit litigation arising out of the
crash of Northwest Flight 255.
Recently, we were actively involved in twenty-nine
wrongful death claims arising out of the crash of Comair Flight 3272
near Detroit. Through Multi-District Litigation and the
assistance of United States District Court Judge John Feikens all
twenty-nine lawsuits were resolved by trial or settlement within four
years of the accident.
We are experienced in handling mass tort
claims arising out of air crash disasters and multi-district litigation
in the federal court system. In addition to representing large
commercial air carriers, our law firm has represented owners and pilots
of small private aircraft, fixed base operators and component part
manufacturers. With the assistance of our construction attorneys
we have also represented owners, design professionals and contractors
in disputes and litigation related to the design and construction of
airport facilities.
Vandeveer Garzia has the skill and resources to
handle complex litigation involving aviation personal injury and
property damage claims.
